Sierra Club Illustrations

Illustrations for the two books Gadabouts and Stick-at-Homes (illustrations 1-10), and A Time to be Born (illustrations 11-20), by Lorus and Margery Milne, contrast Sarah Landry’s stipple drawing in pen and ink, with her continuous tone drawing in graphite. These drawings also demonstrate that the factual representation that scientific illustration requires can be presented, without compromise, in an artistically lyrical and personally expressive way.
